Davido Makes History By Breaking Nigeria’s YouTube Record

Nigerian pop superstar Davido has again broken Nigeria’s YouTube record and now currently holds the new record for the most viewed Nigerian music video on YouTube after he successfully crossed 100 million views on YouTube.

The DMW boss is the first to ever hit the status for a Nigerian song. The race was largely between Davido and Yemi Alade who comes close with over 98 million views on her song ‘Johnny’.

What makes the milestone more delightful is that while it took Yemi Alade’s ‘Johnny’ 4 years and 9 months to garner 98 Million views, it only took Davido’s ‘Fall’ a year and six months to amass up to a 100 million views.

The award winning (The Headies Award for Producer of the Year song) which was uploaded to YouTube on June 2, 2017 under Sony Music Entertainment International Limited, is now the most viewed Nigerian music video on YouTube, sitting at a whopping 100+ million views.

This is a new record set by the DMW boss as the first Nigerian video ever (not just Music Video) to Amass a staggering 100 million views.

What more is that, currently Davido’s Fall also sits on the number 48 position on the US Billboard top 100 most played songs of 2018 under the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart Above Bad Bunny’s ‘MIA’ and Travis Scott’s ‘Yosemite’.
